Treated as a commodity, many girls in Northern Uganda are deemed unworthy of secondary education. VSO train local teachers to support girls to stay in school, and give girls a safe place to open up about the issues they’re facing.

This Christmas DM pack gave me a opportunity to write with some degree of fury about a subject I’m very passionate about. I was over the moon when it raised over £72,000 and was well received by VSO’s trustees, who said: “I’m blown away. This is a triumph.”
